What is the BBB Education Foundation?
In January 2012 the Better Business Bureau of Canton Regional/Greater West Virginia formed an education foundation, the BBB® Charitable and Educational Fund, Inc. (CEF). CEF is a 501(c)3 charitable organization that supports the BBB's vision of an ethical marketplace, where buyers and sellers can trust each other.
The BBB® Charitable & Educational Fund, Inc. will provide education to businesses, charities and consumers within the communities we serve.
The BBB® Charitable and Educational Fund's vision is to be a philanthropic presence in the community and provide education outreach to ensure the development of a strong and ethical marketplace.
This nationally recognized BBB charity program provides consumers with 501(c)3 nonprofit evaluation reports. Evaluations are derived from the BBB Wise Giving Alliance Standards for Charity Accountability.
BBB® Charitable and Educational Fund, Inc. dedicates resources toward public education through media alerts, interviews, newsletters and other communication resources. We provide advice for consumers on a wide range of topics, scam alerts, fraud alerts and other marketplace issues with the goal of helping to avoid them.

Laws of Life Essay Contest
The Laws of Life Essay Contest challenges young people to sef-reflect and write about the values that will guide them throughout life, and in the process, learn more about themselves and what they stand for. CEF sponsors this valuable experience for Perry Local School's youth because we believe that to have trustworthy businesses tomorrow, we must encourage strong character in youth today.
CEF is partnering with Perry Local Schools in Massillon, Ohio to sponsor the contest for the 2013-2014 school year. Winners of the contest will receive a cash prize at a recognition ceremony in April 2014. Military Line
This national BBB program offers expedited services and consumer education to military personnel and their families assisting them with disputes and scams. BBB® Charitable and Educational Fund, Inc. works to identify scam activity and alerts for all military divisions to prevent them from falling victim.
Secure Your IDAlso known as "Shred Day", this program is dedicated to helping consumers avoid becoming victims of identity theft. To combat stolen personal information, we provide a free event for consumers to shred an unlimited amount of their personal documents.

Torch Awards for Ethics (TAE)
CEF is proud to announce the inception of our first annual Torch Awards for Ethics launching in 2014. Founded in 1994, this national award-winning "educate & recognize" program is the premier public recognition of organizations. TAE seeks to recognize and rewards the commitment made by for-profit and non-profit organization who strive for the highest standards of leadership and character ethics. The award brings attention to the practices that these organizations employ to generate a high level of trust among their employees, customers and their communities.
