The Torch Awards for Ethics (TAE) honors Canton Region Ohio and Greater West Virginia companies and non-profits that demonstrate the highest standards of business practices to create trust. These companies generate a high level of trust among their employees, customers and their communities. The awards was established in 1994 and embodies the BBB's mission of advancing marketplace trust. Eligibility & Application Fee
The Torch Awards are open to all for-profit and 501(c)3 non-profit organizations physically located within BBB's 64 county service area. Organizations do NOT need to be a BBB Accredited Business to be eligible to apply. The application fee is $50, which will be used to support the TAE recognition program. Non-Profit Organizations
Must complete the BBB Charitable Standards Evaluation process, and currently meet all BBB Standards For Charitable Accountability.
501(c)3 organizations will have their own category for the awards. For-Profit Organizations
Companies entering the 2014 Torch Awards competition will be judged in 1 of 4 categories based on the number of employees:
- Companies with 1 - 10 employees
- Companies with 11 - 25 employees
- Companies with 26 - 99 employees
- Companies with 100 + employees
A company is not eligible to apply if any of the following conditions apply:
- They have been in business less than 3 years
- They have earned less than a "B" rating from the BBB
- There are indications that they have not met their financial obligations

The BBB and BBB® Charitable & Educational Fund, Inc. will host 3 complimentary Torch Award clinics for those businesses and non-profits interested in submitting an entry. These clinics will provide an interactive forum for businesses to learn about the Torch Awards entry program:

Nominate a company or non-profit
Entries are evaluated by an independent panel of judges comprised of volunteer business and community leaders, based on criteria established by the Canton Region/Greater West Virginia Better Business Bureau and the BBB® Charitable & Educational Fund, Inc.

- Award Ceremony: BBB Annual Celebration, October 2014 (TBA)
